A Spectacular Day Off W/ Daddysmith

Every so often daddysmith and I are off work at the same time. That means no answering work emails, phone calls, or small trips to the office for “5 minutes”. Which kinda happens a lot but when we aren’t having family fun on Sundays we are always searching for our next days off together. We have been looking forward to this day for quite some time now. We even had it all planned out from the time we woke up to the time we rested our eyes. But before I jump right into all the fun and share the pictures I took, I want to give a BIG shout out to my hubby. As a wife and mother, there are times I feel as if I am lacking in one of those two titles. Sometimes I put our boys’ needs and wants before his and or ours. Then there are other times I simply send the smithboys off to Granny & Grandpa Hollands for the night so I can be selfish and have daddysmith all to myself. But unlike me, my husband never subs out his titles of husband and daddy. He wears every hat you can think of all a once and truthfully he doesn’t complain one single bit. My husband is extremely thoughtful, compassionate and is always trying to go above and beyond for us. And honestly nothing that day was ruined because of all daddysmith efforts to make it that wonderful. Like I said, in the beginning, we had our whole day planned out and we decided to do a little scavenger hunt around the Austin area. Since we have two very outdoorsy boys we wanted to look for the best park for them to play at. The first one on our list was Veterans Park!

This was our very first stop and actually to think about it the longest one too. The park was not too big but not too small. Quite frankly it was perfect for both of my smithboys to run back and forth on and I stay in one spot. I left daddysmith to all the running around because I was eating lunch we packed in the picnic basket. But as you can see from the picture above the theme for the park was a military theme with a US Navy boat. As we were driving up to the park both of the boys yelled “WHAT A BOAT!? HERE AT A PARK! WHAT?”. The scenery was amazing too. Trees all around for the perfect shade and there was even a little stream in the back where we saw a couple of ducks swimming around. The smithboys played so hard they completely forgot all about their lunch but not to worry, our pup Simba stayed guarding all the food and mama of course. LOL.

Although it was hard for them to leave, we were off to the next park on our list! Now the boys have been to Play for All Park before but daddysmith hasn’t and that’s why I added this one to the list. I didn’t get to many pictures of the park and the boys because they were doing some construction and I was the one running around the playground. I will, however, tell you this is by far the absolute best park for all ages and abilities. They have different sections for different age groups as well as swings and slides for children in wheelchairs. How amazing right? Not only do they have all of those things, they also have a small version of their very own Round Rock, where kids can roam around HEB, Starbucks, Police Stations, Fire Station, and Chick-Fil-A! They were in the process of building the “race track” where you can race or ride your bike around a track. Like yall how freakin’ cool is that? I highly recommend yall swinging by if you’re in the area or make a small day trip. I promise you will not be disappointed. Sadly this was our last stop due to the smithboys getting tired, hot, and irritable. We didn’t want to stop here but when daddysmith says its time to go, its defiantly time to go. Being a full-time wife, mama, and having a full-time job I often time lose track of my days. So whenever I get a break I am always thankful to spend it with them. Thank you so much daddysmith for making this day so spectacular for the smithboys and I. WE LOVE YOU!
